The lack of party unity between the Obama and Hilary camps of the Democratic party are making the national headlines, but it seems that the local GOP is struggling to find a unified message of its own.
Just one day after Steve Nass writes an editorial for the BH, College Republicans Vice Chair Kristen Wall seems to disagree about the direction of campus ideologies.
Nass:
At one time, the UW System was clearly more diverse in its viewpoints than the rest of Wisconsin. However, those days of balance on campus have now been replaced by a liberal theology that has no room for independent or conservative ideas. This liberal theology has begun to transform the educational process — particularly at UW-Madison. The use of political correctness as an official tool to stifle independent or conservative debate and speech at UW-Madison is well documented.
Wall:
But back to that all important word. Change. The political climate of this university is changing. I am not saying we will wake up tomorrow morning and all of a sudden people will be singing praises of President Bush and erecting statues to Ronald Reagan and Joseph McCarthy, but there is a growing contingency of people that are questioning the liberal rhetoric that so many accept without blinking an eye. So I invite everyone to come and see what the College Republicans are all about.
So if we are to believe them both, at the same time the administration is stiffling all conservative thought students are becoming more conservative. If that’s the case then maybe Nass should consider further moderating the left wing tilt of campus by requiring that all administrators come from the Women’s Studies department.

1 I think I already read Wall's comments in Sara's column // Sep 3, 2008 at 11:44 pm
What is this “liberal rhetoric” that everyone is apparently swallowing so blindly? Equal rights for all, a different approach to growing the economy than the failed plan used now, increased foreign relations? Man I hate those things too. Now that I’ve been enlightened, I think I’ll go join the College Republicans. Use fear to drive your beliefs into my head conservatives! I hate using reason and logic. I also hate using birth control. Good thing you’ll end my access to that as well, and any hope I have of receiving equal pay some day. Thanks, see you at the kick off!
