Fearless Sifting?

Fearless Sifting is the blog of UW-Madison sophomore Patrick McEwen. This blog contains my thoughts on campus and Madison area happenings. Fan mail can be sent to fearlesssifting@gmail.com, criticism is also welcome though the comment section works well for that too.

The title of the blog comes from a plaque outside of Bascom Hall that reads something to the effect of “Whatever may be the limitations which trammel inquiry in other forms of media, I believe that the great blogosphere of the University of Wisconsin should ever encourage that continual and fearless sifting and winnowing by which alone truth can be found”

Looks like a good prospect for the campus.

Updating often and maintaining an appropriate balance between a serious Madison/campus news awareness and a little dash of fun seems to be key.

Maintaining an independent voice is also crucial. It’s great to show connections and interactions with other public figures on campus, but it’s always healthy in the end to demonstrate independent thinking and a bit of skepticism.

Best of luck with the blog!
